The degree show is an annual event that draws thousands of visitors to peruse the studios filled with works by the graduating designers. The identity for the event had to show the diversity of the work and function in a variety of ways throughout the show.
T H E O U T C O M E Like a kaleidoscope, students at CSM all have the same elements to work with but go on to make a myriad of outcomes. The identity is celebratory, illustrative and informative when needed. The kaleidoscopic patterns act as a backdrop to build a cohesive and diverse set of outcomes. All of the elements of the brand can be mixed up to create endless possibilities.

Any piece of information we want can be instantly found. A few taps on a screen and we have full contact details for someone we just passed in the street. It's convenient and efficient, yes. But whatever happened to a little mystery? What happened to the thrill of the unknown?
T H E O U T C O M E Just like chain letters and pen pals from the past, Sender Unknown connects people who might otherwise never know each other. But in total anonymity, the act of delighting someone with a personalized gift is simply that and nothing more.
This is an activity revolving around a list of favorite things that is left behind for the next person. A gift is thoughtfully crafted with this list in mind and then sent to a central address where all envelopes are then forwarded to the intended stranger.

Sometimes great plans die before getting a chance to live. A night out with friends might come up in conversation, but the challenge of planning it with the group is sometimes more daunting than it’s worth. Streams of Facebook chats that go in circles or radio silence from that one friend adds to the difficulty.
O U T C O M E
Who’s In is an app that continues the conversation to solidify a plan. In the app, friends are asked questions normally seen in a group chat, but here, the responses are a fine balance between vague and clear. The hard work of making a final call is not on friends in the group, but on a logical app that visually shows the best time and place to meet. And with all the info in one place, there’s no excuse to flake on friends!

A Call for Nuance
The American education system features a one-size-fits-all approach to measuring student’s growth and development. Its focus on efficiency and profit creates an incredibly narrow-minded view of how children learn and understand the world around them.
T H E O U T C O M E This book challenges the broken system by visualizing observations, asking questions, and posing solutions. It’s a contribution to a larger conversation about enabling the individual instead of measuring the masses.

A freelance copywriter needed a brand that would stand out to the designers she was talking to. She is a promoter of collaboration and enjoying the creative process. British through and through, a picnic is the perfect metaphor for collaboration.
T H E O U T C O M E A flexible wording system sets the stage for Sarah's personality and the service she is offering. Elements of a picnic pop up but the real hero is in the words.

When it seems like there are only two categories for newspapers: entertaining or informing, we are missing out on so many possibilities. We've got the extremes covered in the heavy and intimidating papers and the questionable journalism in the tabloids.
T H E O U T C O M E This newspaper cover bridges that gap and offers smart content without being so serious. Borrowing from both types of newspapers, the design elements were carefully chosen to welcome someone into the pages.
In Terms of Life
Ogilvy CommonHealth Worldwide came to Central Saint Martins to see how creative minds and medical statisticians could work together. We were asked to rethink how medical treatment information is communicated to healthcare professionals and patients.
T H E O U T C O M E In Terms of Life is a tool for patients to better understand the impact a treatment will have on their lives. Rather than seeing information about a treatment in the language and presentation professionals see it, patients are given a more relatable and personal experience, void of industry jargon and statistics.
This project was presented in Cannes to healthcare communication industry leaders. It has resulted in a worldwide initiative within Ogilvy to reimagine the process of communication within the medical industry.

The patient enters major life events in his future.
He will then note the physical conditions he wishes to have in order to have a fulfilling experience.
A timeline reveals the progression of the disease alongside the patient's events.
The patient can see which physical conditions will be intact at each event.
He can also compare the progression of his disease with different treatments to make a better decision.

Grain & Glass is a modern production house with a hand crafted style and the latest top notch equipment. The founder wanted a style that reflected his outdoorsy lifestyle and personal attention to detail that would set him apart in the industry.
T H E O U T C O M E In an effort to avoid the slick and sexy look of a typical production house, the brand takes on an analog feel with a sketched mark. The logo works hard by being flexible for different applications. The sketch quality is spread across all promotional items, making them more lifestyle in purpose.

Being flung into the realm of printing in the real world after spending three years in the comfort of university printers and one off prints can be terrifying for recent grads. The language, printing processes and economy of printing can be hard to navigate.
T H E O U T C O M E This is a guidebook for newbies that explains processes and terminology through explanations and typography illustrations and demonstrations. It also offers insider tips to getting the best results in printing. It can be used for inspiration and to show techniques to clients and vendors.

To A Stranger
To A Stranger is a poem by Walt Whitman about getting to know a passing stranger, only to realize the intimacy they might have had, could in fact, never happen between two strangers. As the book progresses, photos show passing strangers growing closer together, but only in the angle they are shot. They will always remain strangers. The book jacket contains my commentary on the concept of journeys and on the creation of the book.
